- 1979, Vice-President, Iranian National Television.
- 1980-89, President, Islamic Republic News Agency.
- 1980-88, Supreme Defense Council of Iran and Head of the War Information Headquarters.
- Since 1983, Professor of Management and Educational Psychology, Tehran University.
- Has held numerous governmental, diplomatic and academic posts, including,
- since 1989, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN
- Since 1997, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
- Author and translator of numerous textbooks and articles on education, management and foreign
policy.
